Digital products that actually go live in banking
From the Raiffeisen Switzerland website to a finance app for children and young people at the Sparkassen in Germany.
You are looking for someone who connects product and engineering and shows results instead of slides. Here are two mandates from the day-to-day: clear priorities, close work with business and IT, and features that deliver value.
Raiffeisen Switzerland · Senior Product Owner · Websites · 2015 – 2025
A bank website that guides instead of overwhelming
The starting point
A platform that had grown over years, with hundreds of pages and several owners — website, calculators, advisory appointments, enquiries from different channels. On top of that came the migration of the stock-exchange platform and a redesign. At that scale a big-bang relaunch was too risky; the rebuild had to happen step by step.
In one sentence
The digital front door of Switzerland’s largest cooperative bank modernised — more usable for customers, more controllable for the business.
Stack: Adobe Experience Manager, Adobe AI, personalisation, intelligent search. The focus was navigation, leads and operability.
What came of it
- Navigation improved so content can be found
- Website adapted to the new Raiffeisen branding
- Personalised content instead of one page for everyone
- A search that returns structured, relevant results
- Campaigns and teasers can be steered centrally
- Over 3,500 redirects migrated cleanly
- The stock-exchange platform migrated and the design reworked
StarFinanz / Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe · Senior Product Owner · youth finance app · since 2025
A finance app that kids and parents actually use
The starting point
Young people need banking that feels like their world: simple, transparent, without bank jargon. A play-money app is not enough — it is about real accounts, real payments and pocket money that works in daily life. And all of that in the regulated environment of one of Germany’s largest financial groups.
In one sentence
Product ownership for the youth finance app of one of Germany’s largest financial groups — from the requirement through to productive use.
Stack: mobile app, payment connectivity including Wero, agile delivery with business and engineering, Kotlin, Android, iOS.
What came of it
- A finance app for children and young people
- Designed for clarity, control and trust
- Real-time payments, Wero integration, account activity
- Pocket-money management with a learning effect, in one place
- Tested with real families, not only designed
- Aligned with the needs of the target group
- Rolled out step by step across the Sparkassen
From the work
What mandates like these actually demand
Both cases ran over years, with many stakeholders and no room to compromise on privacy or operations. What they taught me, I take into every new product.
Deciding under uncertainty
- Set priorities among a hundred wishes
- Cut scope so it fits in one release
- Write requirements so they are testable
- Say no without blocking the project
- Make assumptions explicit where facts are missing
Many parties at one table
- Bring business, IT and leadership onto the same page
- Keep suppliers and internal teams in sync
- Document decisions before they become contested
- Handovers that do not leave a knowledge gap
- Communication is the language of leadership
Engineering that holds
- Share responsibility for architecture and stack decisions
- Get hands-on when work would otherwise stall
- Use AI in day-to-day work without losing quality
- Measure what actually happens after release
- Define key performance indicators (KPIs)
Regulated environment
- Privacy, regulation, EU AI Act
- Approval processes and traceability
- Migrations and releases without a big bang
- Working with legal, risk and operations
- Compliance and controls taken seriously
If something new needs to take shape
Zero to Launch is my offer for teams that want to take a new product from idea to live: product leadership part-time, with a build share where speed matters — and a partner who stays after go-live.
Meant for mid-sized or fast-growing companies shipping a new product. Less of a fit if you only need development capacity or want to fill a banking mandate.
